The Greek 8+ National Team visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul, where it had the chance to receive the blessings and wishes of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The Greek and Turkish National Teams' preparations for Sunday's Two Nations Cup Rowing 2011 race, coincided with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Patriarchy.

The Greek rowers and the representatives followed the ceremony and had an unexpected surprise for the Ecumenical Patriarch, whom they offered the end part of the roar with the athletes' signatures, which was truly well-received and accompanied by wishes on the race and the team's preparations towards the Summer Olympics 2012 in London. Successful Greek singer, Alkistis Protopsalti joined the occasion, who was also present for the celebrations, wished the team luck for tomorrow's race and had group photos shot with the whole team.

Before the Greek team's visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the two National Teams had the opportunity to complete their final practice towards Sunday's race, which will take place on the Golden Horn, at 10:00.
